Jute Matting is an erosion control material made of Jute and used primarily on sloped areas to control erosion and assist in the establishment of planting and vegetation. Jute matting also aids in weed control. Jute mat is set in place with a rubber mallet driving pins or large staples into the ground. A foot controlled gun can be used for installing staples more efficiently. The jute matting is typically sprayed with water after initial placement, helping it conform better with the land.
